About Ubeda
Ubeda is known as the capital of the Andalusian Renaissance. Its old town is declared a Historic-Artistic site, housing magnificent churches, palaces and aristocratic houses. An outstanding feature of the city is Plaza de Vazquez de Molina, a monumental square surrounded with impressive buildings such as the Palacio de Cadenas. The city has a distinctly Castilian graveness with its granite buildings and plazas. You will find all the main attractions within a short walking distance.
One of the main attractions of the town is the annual music and dance festival held in May. Ubeda is a town of artists and craftsmen and besides local olive oil and wine production, it also specialises in carvings from olive wood and pottery. It is a rather quiet town with several cafes and restaurants offering the local dishes.
