About Tampere

Tampere is the largest inland city of the Nordic countries. Thanks to the new city planning, the former industrial areas are alive again: restaurants, shops, sports centres and museums have found locations there. Tampere is also a city of education, having two universities and other insitutions of education.

The central square of Tampere is the heart of the city. People meet here and it is also the place for many festivities. The square is surrounded by many beautiful buildings, the most important of which is the Old City Hall. The ideal place to take a break in Tampere is the Pyynikki Park, a peaceful oasis in the middle of the town.
