Rental Restrictions

In order to rent a car in Greece, you must be at least 21 years old and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. An international driving license is required.

Vehicles rented in Greece may be driven outside of the country by special arrangement, but an additional fee may be charged for this service.

Driving Restrictions

In Greece, traffic is on the right and passing on the left. The minimum driving age is 18 years. Children must be at least 10 to sit in the front. All passengers have to use seatbelts at all times. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰.

In towns, you may only use the horn in cases of immediate danger.

Where there are three lanes on the road, the middle one should be used for passing in both directions.

Parking is prohibited within 3 metres of a fire hydrant, within 5 metres of an intersection and within 15 metres of a public transportation stop.
