Rental Restrictions
In order to rent a car in Argentina, you have to be at least 21 years old and have held you driving license for at least 2 years.
Driving Restrictions
In Argentina, driving is on the right hand side of the road and passing on the left. The legal driving age is 16. All passengers must use seatbelts at all times. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰.
You must have your headlights on when driving, even at daytime. Driving with parking lights only is illegal.
When a school bus stops and its red lights are flashing, it means that traffic travelling in both directions must stop. A flashing red traffic light means you must come to a complete stop and check that the road is clear before proceeding. Traffic lights go from red to green with no intermediate amber light.

About Salta
Salta is the capital city of the Salta province and also the commercial centre of the area. The city attracts many visitors with its climate; the winter is warm and dry and the summer is mild. The city stands out in the region for its Hispanic architecture, the colonial spirit being visible in its houses, monuments and narrow streets. The most significant buildings in Salta are grouped around the central square: you can admire several statues, the Cathedral, the historical and anthropological museums and the Church of San Francisco, one of Salta’s most loved buildings.
When in Salta, you should definitely try Andean foods, such as the world-famous empanadas at a local restaurant. Two great fiestas are held in the city annually in September.
