About Rotorua

Rotorua lies at the very heart of New Zealand’s North Island, on the southern shore of Lake Rotorua. Much of the surrounding area is covered with volcanoes, forests, rivers and geysers. Rotorua is famous for its geothermal wonders.

You can enjoy events with traditional dancing and music and feast on the traditional Maori food hangi – cooked in an earth oven.

Rotorua’s eleven lakes offer you adventures and relaxation on water: you can go sailing, waterskiing and fishing. The town provides the opportunity for adventure even for the most daring: you can run down the slope of an extinct volcano, jump from bungy towers and find much more to do.
