Rental Restrictions
Cars rented in Slovenia are not allowed into the following countries: Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Herzegovina, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Romania, Former USSR, Slovakia, Croatia, Turkey and Yugoslavia.
Driving Restrictions
In Slovenia, traffic is on the right and overtaking on the left. The minimum driving age is 18. All passengers are required to use seatbelts. Unless seated in an approved child seat, children under 12 years of age are not allowed to sit in the front. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰. Drunk driving is severeley punished.
While driving, headlights must always be on and you are not allowed to use a mobile phone unless you have a hands-free system.
Buses have priority when leaving a bus stop.
In the city centres, parking is permitted at places marked with white lines for a maximum of 1 hour. At places marked with blue lines, parking is permitted for free for a maximum of 30 minutes. In case of illegal parking, your car can be towed away or wheelclamped.
The police are empowered to collect fines on the spot.
