Driving Restrictions

The minimum age of a driver is 18 years. Children must be at least 12 to sit in the front. Children under 12 must be seated in the rear and seatbelted or in a child seat. The use of seatbelts is compulsory to all paseengers.

A flashing red traffic light means “Do not enter”; flashing amber means “Caution”; flashing yellow arrows mean “Yield”.

Do not park where the curb is painted yellow. Unless stated otherwise, parking is free of charge from 7 pm to 9 am and on weekends, public holidays and during the whole of August. Pay-and-display machines are very common in France.
