Driving restrictions

The minimum age of a driver is 18 years. Children must be at least 10 years old to sit in the front seat. If they are under 10 years of age, they must sit in the back or in a child seat.

All passengers are obligated to use seatbelts. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰.

A driver should only use a horn in extremely dangerous situations.

Most of the motorways in France have tolls. Tickets are provided when entering the motorway and must be paid when exiting. You can pay in cash or with any of the major credit cards.
