Rental Restrictions
To rent a car in Norway, you must be at least 19 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge.
Cars rented in Norway are not allowed into the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and republics of the former Yugoslavia.
Driving Restrictions
In Norway, traffic is on the right and passing on the left. The minimum driving age is 18 years. All passengers are required to use seatbelts. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰ and fines for drunk driving are extremely severe.
When driving, you have to have the headlights of your vehicle on at all times. The excessive use of the horn is illegal. Trams should be passed on the right; on one way roads, they may be passed on the left.
Unless you have a hands-free system, you are not allowed to use a mobile phone.
Parking is not allowed on main roads in Norway, but there are many municipal lots. Parking metres are categorised by color: yellow permitting parking for 1 hour, grey for 2 and brown for 3. Parking regulations are strictly enforced.
If you violate the traffic laws, the police are authorised to collect fines on the spot.

About Molde
Molde, known as “The city of roses” because of its numerous flowered gardens, is an attractive town situated on the west coast of Norway.
