Traffic is on the right. The minimum driving age is 18 years. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.2‰. All passengers are required to use seatbelts. Children under 7 should be restrained in an approved seat.
Most cities in Sweden have both metered on-street parking and timed ticket machines operating from 8 am to 6 pm. A yellow sign with a red line across its bottom means that parking in somehow restricted in the vicinity. Usually, cars are parked on the right side of the road. The fines for parking violations are remarkably high.
Trams must be passed on the right. Pedestrians are only allowed to cross streets at pedestrian crossings.
When driving, the headlights must always be on. In towns, you may only use the horn in cases of extreme and immediate danger. Outside cities, you should use the horn to indicate your intention to pass.
