About Linz
Like most cities of Austria, Linz, the second largest city in the country, is based on the Roman expansion to the North. In Linz, the old and the new live together in harmony; great efforts have been made to maintain the authentic feeling of the historic Old Town Quarter with its elegant and well-restored houses in the pedestrian zone.
You can take a ride on the steepest adhesion railway in the world and admire the view of the city and the River Danube. The city centre is each year transformed into a stage and street artists from all over the world get together.
