Driving restrictions
The minimum age of a driver is 17 years. Children must be at least 12 years of age to sit in the front. Children under the age of 12 must either sit in the rear of the vehicle or, if in the front, be in a child seat. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰.
It is illegal to drive with the parking lights only, but low beams must used during bad weather. Motorcyclists must drive with headlights on at all times.
You are considered parked if you leave your car or stop for 3 minutes, unless you are loading or unloading the vehicle. You are not allowed to park within 5 metres of a pedestrian crossing or intersection, within 10 metres of a traffic light or stop/yield sign if that might obstruct the view of the sign. When parking, you must leave at least 3 metres between your vehicle and the middle of the street or the nearest lane divider.
In Germany, automatic cameras are widely used to catch traffic violators. The parking ticket will be posted to the offender.

About Leipzig
Since German reunification, Leipzig’s city centre has been completely rebuilt, but the traces of the past are still visible. Most of Leipzig’s sights are easily accessible on foot and are often picked with tree-lined parks and squares, making a walk through the city an enjoyable experience.
Leipzig is rich in historic buildings, the fine examples of which include impressive baroque monuments and churches.
Perhaps the best thing about Leipzig is the energetic multicultural atmosphere that pervades the city centre day and night. The promenade that surrounds the old city offers a pleasant chance to relax.
