About Klagenfurt

The pleasant town of Klagenfurt is situated on the shores of the Worthersee, which is a great holiday destination with many watersport possibilities. The city is home to Austria’s most visited tourist attraction, Minimundus: scale models of the world’s famous buildings.

The old city reflects 800 years of history; there is hardly an architectural style not present in Klagenfurt. Still, it is not a museum, but a living town. The romantic courtyards built in the 16 th and 17 th century have been renovated and are open to public. Courtyards and shopping areas house cafes, shops and restaurants. Klagenfurt is also worth a visit because of its many parks and the lake.

The city has a busy cultural life: it has a theatre, nearly 100 culture societies and choirs and 20 galleries.
