Driving Restrictions
In Hungary, traffic is on the right and passing on the left. The minimum driving age is 17 years. Children must be at least 16 to sit in the front. Infants and toddlers must be seated in a child seat in the back. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0 per cent and the use of seatbelts is compulsory for all passengers.
Pedestrians have priority at marked pedestrian crossings and at intersections.
The police are authorised to collect fines on the spot. They are also subjecting vehicles to on-the-spot checks in search for illegal residents in Hungary.
Outside urban areas, vehicles must use dimmed headlights even during daylight hours. Flashing the headlights often means that the driver yields. You are only allowed to use the horn in case of extreme danger.
When driving, you may only use a built-in mobile phone with speakers.
Most of the main tourist areas have free parking. On two-way streets, you can park on the right side only; on one-way streets, you are allowed to park on both sides.

About Kecskemet
Kecskemet preserves centuries of old tradition. It is especially noteworthy for the former Franciscan monastery, the former synagogue and the Town Hall. The town also presents many thematic collections of museums. The centre of Kecskemet is the scene of cultural events but also an excellent experience for tourists because of its closure from transport for decades and also because most of the sights of the town can be reached on foot.
In odd years, the town celebrates the International Kodaly Festival where distinguished musicians from Hungary and abroad perform.
