Driving Restrictions
The minimum age of a driver is 17 years. To sit in the front, children must be at least 12 years of age or equipped with a child restraint. When sitting in the rear of the vehicle, children under 12 must be seated in a child seat if such is fitted. The use of seatbelts is compulsory for all passengers.
The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.5‰.
The police use automatic cameras to catch violators.
In case of bad weather, low beams must be used. It is illegal to drive with your parking lights only.
If you leave your car or stop for more than 3 minutes without loading or unloading cargo or people, you are considered parked. It is illegal to park within 5 metres of a pedestrian crossing or an intersection. No-parking zones are marked on the street with a white zigzag line.

About Flensburg
Flensburg is Germany’s northernmost city. It is an active port and commercial centre having shipyards, metal works and paper factories.
In the 16 th century Flensburg grew into a rich trading town and has carried on its traditions ever since, altough having been severely damaged in World War I.
