Driving Restrictions
The minimum age of a driver is 18 years. In order to sit in the front, children must be at least 12. The use of seatbelts is compulsory for all passengers. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0 mg.
Headlights must be on in case of poor visibility. Horns can only be used to warn of danger or to signal that you want to pass. Horns are forbidden in central Prague between 9 pm and 5 am, from 15 March to 15 October, and from 8 pm to 6 am the rest of the year.
Traffic is on the right and passing on the left. Trams, however, should be passed on the right.
The police are authorised to collect fines on the spot.
Parking is only allowed on the right side of the road, but on one-way you can park on both sides. Do not park within 5 metres of an intersection, pedestrian crossing or public transportation stop. Be careful not to park in a Resident Area marked by a blue line on the ground and a signpost saying “RESERVE”. Pay-and-display machines are rather common in the Czech Republic. PO-PA means Monday to Friday – the weekend is for free.

Road Tolls
Cars are required to have a toll sticker to travel on the expressways. The sticker must be placed on the upper right hand corner of the windshield. Cars rented in the Czech Republic will have the sticker on the windhield. The sticker is valid for a year.
